How You Can Avoid The Three M's Of Drop Shipping
 by: Brad Beiermann Ph.D.

When you are learning to do something new, it's common to make mistakes. Often our mistakes are the real lessons in life. We make mistakes because we simply do not have the past experience to know right from wrong. We can carry this same wisdom over to the world of drop shipping.

There are many Website owners trying to find authentic drop shipping companies for their online retail business. An authentic drop shipper is a supplier of wholesale products who will drop ship single item orders direct to your customers. Our business (www.hienotedirectory.com) is focused on researching and publishing information about authentic drop shippers for Internet based retailers. Our experience has taught us the do's and don't of identifying authentic drop shippers. Let's now cut to the chase. In finding an authentic drop shipper, it is important to avoid the three M's. What are the three M's of drop shipping?

(M)inimum orders (M)iddlemen (M)embership fees

We are going to examine each one of these to get a better understanding of their meanings, and how they impact you as an Internet retailer.

Quick Lessons For Success

Okay, let's see:

- You have your website running.
- You can accept payment from customers.
- You have good drop shippers to supply product…or, a least you are thinking you do. How do we know for certain?

As a quick check, we are going to validate the last bullet by seeing if we avoided the three M's of drop shipping.

1. Minimum Orders. An authentic drop shipper does not require you to buy minimum amounts of product to do business with them. An authentic drop shipper will drop ship in single item quantities to your customers. Sometimes, companies require minimum orders because they cannot absorb the cost structure of single item drop shipping. Drop shipping is generally more expensive to do for the supplier. To offset their costs and unload the products, they will require you to order product you do not need. As an online retailer, you will want to avoid this situation.

2. Middlemen. This is the classic, unnecessary, middle layer of distribution. Middlemen, as the name implies, are the people in between you and a drop shipper. When you place an order with them, they order product from the actual drop shipper. Take their slice of the profit and have the real drop shipper send the products to your customers. They can also steal your customers as they are getting all of the shipping and contact information from you. At that juncture, they can send whatever they want to your customers such as advertising with lower prices. These folks should be avoided whenever possible. They are taking your additional profits by giving you pricing often close to retail. In some situations, they can also lengthen the delivery time to your customers. Again, you do not want this to happen. You need to ask the correct questions in order to avoid these folks. Questions such as, 'Are you the manufacturer of the product?" Or, 'Do you stock inventory of the products you sell?" are good questions to ask. We even ask folks to arrange a time for us to come visit their warehouse.

3. Membership Fees. An authentic single item drop shipper will not require you to pay membership or processing fees. Should you be paying someone to sell their products? No! Beware, they could be a middleman. Avoid any membership fees or dues. An authentic drop shipper does not require membership fees to sell their merchandise. In some cases, we have found that these so-called drop shippers charge membership fees for products that might not be doing well in the market place. The supplier wants to make sure they make money by charging 'monthly fees" as they know you will probably be struggling to make money selling their products.

How you spot an authentic drop shipper.

Now that we have an awareness of the three M's to avoid, we can summarize some of the rules and validations for our drop shipper search. Our checklist of rules can begin to look something like the following:

They will drop ship single item orders without minimum requirements. They will not require you to pay any member fees or monthly fees. They will offer you true wholesale pricing so you can make a profit. They will not put any of their own promotional materials in with your customer's order.

Once a drop shipper can meet the above criteria there are other logistical items to consider such as the following:

They will put your company name on the shipping label. They will ship in a plain box without any of their company logos or information on the box.

They will include a plain invoice in with your order without any pricing.

There are other items to consider for an authentic drop shipper validation, but the above lists can get you going in the right direction. Remembering to avoid the three M's can prevent those costly mistakes in your online retail business.

Grow Your Internet Business And Increase Web Site Traffic By Writing Articles
 by: Donovan Baldwin

If you're a writer or have an internet business, I've got good news and better news and best news. If you are or wish to be a writer and have, or wish you had, an internet business, it's all best!

There is a new type of advertising for internet businesses these days and it is very effective. Even better, it is easy, and best, it is free!

Many people roaming the internet MAY be searching for your business, MIGHT find it, and PERHAPS might go through your web site to make a purchase.

However, it's a big internet business ocean, and chances are, you, like me, are a small frog in this big pond.

Don't get me wrong, I make a comfortable income in six figures from my internet business, but I am NOT Ford, Verizon, or even Jimmy Dean Sausage. Those are big players, and you and I cannot effectively compete against them head to head on a daily basis. If I advertise my brand of sausage, and someone searches for sausage, they will probably wind up at Jimmy Dean's web site, and will buy Jimmy Dean's sausage!

If, on the other hand, someone is trying to find information on healthy breakfast foods or foods that can be used in a weight loss program, and I just happen to be able to provide that information, AND I JUST HAPPEN TO HAVE A LINK (NO PUN INTENDED) TO MY BREAKFAST SAUSAGE, I might just have made a sale.

That's where this new type of advertising has come in.

At first, the internet seemed to be a vast market with everybody trying to sell things. Over time, another picture has emerged. People are roaming the internet daily in search of information! He or she who can provide the information is going to rise in the respect of the information seeker, and is going to have the opportunity to introduce his or her product or service to the information seeker. And, as is common on the internet today, the information seeker is usually not looking for an encyclopedic article on all aspects of a topic. They want one or two specific pieces of information or answers to certain questions they may have.

Additionally, search engine businesses have realized this, and many of the most effective search engines are giving higher priority to web sites and pages which provide the informational content their customers are seeking.

This new, free, effective advertising technique I mentioned above is based on this. You provide the information people are seeking in small simple articles, and include information about your product either within the body of the article or in an informational tag of some sort. The search engines are happy to find the information you provide and follow links from the informational site back to your internet business web site, thus increasing your visibility and ability to attract traffic.

So far, so good, but you are still the small internet business in the huge pond full of leviathan internet businesses. What you do is get a lot of other fishes to help spread your message across the internet pond.

There is on the internet a huge array of web sites which specialize in accepting articles from authors who have written these small informational or entertaining articles. Once accepted, these articles are posted on their web sites for their visitors to view. Many of these are high traffic web sites and you have the chance of having your article viewed by many visitors. If the web site where you post your article is visited by a search engine, and many have very high rankings with major search engines, your article will eventually be indexed by the search engine and probably the web site you have linked to as well.

Additionally, and this may be the best part, this site where you have posted your article will be visited by thousands of people looking for content to include on their web sites or in their e-zines. They are not looking for Herman Melville or Alexandre Dumas, they are looking for short informational articles which provide valid information to their web site visitors or readers. If your article fits their needs, some of them will use it, distributing your article...AND LINKS...across the internet ocean.

So how hard is it to write one of these articles?

I just did.

It includes practical information on a subject of interest to a great many people. It is on a subject I know something about, but, even had I only known a little bit, fifteen minutes research on the internet would have provided the information I needed. It took me less than an hour to complete (not counting stopping to play with the cats, Big Foot and Amber, and letting Diamond, the dog, outside). Now, I am going to spend a few minutes at EzineArticles.com, SubmitYourArticle.com, the Warrior Forum, and at one of my own internet business web sites where I post many of my articles, and at my internet business blog where I will also post this article. Within a few days, it will be on a few web sites, following the process I have outlined, and working for me twenty-four hours a day, every day of the year.

Guess I'll go have breakfast now. Love my internet business!

You have a great day.

Organic Search Engine Optimization
 by: Sharon Housley

The fabled tales of successfully tricking search engines into high rankings have given way to a new truth, to achieve decent consistent ranking you cannot engage in tricks but on focused optimization done in a professional ethical manner. According to search sources, with the latest Google update, there is no longer an even playing field when it comes to search placement. The new Google ranking system gives an advantage to large, established businesses that have achieved brand recognition. Does this mean small businesses should give up on the Web as a marketing model? No, of course not, they simply must develop quality content. To increase your natural ranking (search engine rankings that are not paid for) you must:

Write Good Text Copy.

The website copy should contain relevant text. Websites that use text rather than large images will load faster and the search engines can easily spider the text of the website for themes and keywords. Search engines cannot discern the meaning of words and phrases that are presented as an image. If you do use an image, be sure to include a brief phrase or keyword as an ALT tag. The ALT tags help website visitors who are visually impaired. ALT tags also convey the meaning of the image to search engines.

Research Keyword Phrases.

Using terms and phrases that relate to your product or service is critical. It is important to use terms that potential customers would use when searching for your product or service. Often products can be described by a number of terms, for example soda, tonic and pop all identify soft drinks. One term might be more prevalent in a specific geographic region, which is fine if you are selling locally, but if you are selling globally, optimizing for a single popular term could be problematic. Consider optimizing different portions of your website for various keywords and phrases that relate to the product or service that you are promoting.

More information on Determining Keywords - http://www.small-business-software.net/determining-keywords.htm

Provide Valuable Content.

Websites linking to a website are seen by many search engines as "votes". A link typically implies quality content. The easiest and most effective way to achieve a large number of links is to provide unique quality content. This might be a free web based tool, information or other content that is unique and relevant.

Examples of free valuable content: Website RSS Button Creator - http://www.feedforall.com/public/rss-graphic-tool.htm Reprint Articles - http://www.small-business-software.net/free-website-content.htm

Monitor.

Monitor blogs for online chatter about your product or service. If you find a product review or question on a blog consider posting a comment. Ego searches are an excellent way to stay informed and maintain a strategic advantage over competitors. Monitor keywords or phrases that relate to your product or service, and join conversations that are relevant.

More on Ego Searches - http://www.feedforall.com/ego-searches.htm

Measure.

In order to know what strategies are most effective in an industry or sector, it is important to track the results. The easiest way to track web traffic and conversions is web logs. Take a critical look at referrers, trends, and what keywords result in the most traffic. Evaluating web logs will assist a webmaster in determining what optimization techniques are most effective.

Understanding Web Logs - http://www.small-business-software.net/understanding-web-logs.htm

Ultimately its is foolish to attempt to trick search engines into high rankings, efforts are better spent on building quality, consistent, valuable, content.

Don't Give Up Your Day Job! Will Work From Home Work For You?
 by: Zoe DeLuca

What is it that makes starting our "Own Home Business" sound so enticing? It is true that the 'right' job is becoming hard to find as corporations merge, downsize and relocate all in the name of profitability. There is no doubt that we all need to think more creatively about our future livelihoods, but is home business ownership right for you?

According to the ABS, nearly one million Australians work from home. This includes offsite or telecommuting employees, but still amounts for more than 10% of the entire workforce. Of these 76% are aged 35 years or older. I encourage self-employment as I know the flexibility, independence and other benefits that it can bring. Being your own boss, working around your kids and determining your own hours, income and holidays is an attractive idea. However, I have learned that not everyone should run his or her own business. Why is it that many people running businesses are not successful, happy or fulfilled while others absolutely love it? I believe it all comes down to planning and having realistic expectations.

For a lot of people starting their own home business is the best decision that they will ever make. They have done their homework, thoroughly researched their concept/product and have organised financial back-up (yes it does take some money at least to make money). From the time they start their business they are positioned for success. Yet for others, the decision to become self-employed is a complete disaster.

Statistics show that 9 out of every 10 new businesses cease within 10 years. You can increase your chances of success by using an established business model through a franchise or Multi Level Marketing plan. For many however 'business ownership' simply means more work for less pay! The businesses that grow and prosper are professional. They plan and set goals effectively and regularly review these, invest in marketing and growth and work hard! It takes persistent and consistent activity to achieve your goals and be successful in any business - it's that simple!

Multi Level Marketing has proved the perfect vehicle to allow me to be successful in my own home business. I actively promote goal setting (both short and long term) within my team. We then work together to formulate 90 Day Plans and a Daily Method of Operation (DMO) to ensure that they are undertaking the required level of activity to the get the results they desire. Regardless of whether you are in MLM or a more traditional business, the secret to success is planning. Boring, tedious, time-consuming planning. As they say "Failing to plan is planning to fail". Having said that, planning in the absence of activity will not result in success.

The benefits of working from home are huge but it is not a decision for the faint hearted, weak willed, or very dis-organised. Before you embark on any business venture you need to do your research, organise your finances, plan your goals and activities, have realistic expectations and stand in front of the mirror and take a good, hard look at yourself. Take stock of your strengths and weaknesses and understand your personality type. Are you disciplined enough to get up every day and commit to doing whatever it takes to reach your goals? Are you willing to work harder on yourself than you ever will on your business? Are you willing to reinvest short term profits back into your business in order to gain long term rewards? If you can honestly answer YES to these questions - Congratulations you have the makings of a successful home business owner (and I'd love to talk to you!). If you are not quite sure - I suggest you look for an opportunity that you can start part-time and see if you "have what it takes" while still retaining the income of your current job. If you answered NO to the above questions (or think I'm being too tough) - there are benefits to being an Employee, I suggest you "Don't Give Up Your Day Job"!

5 Proven Methods to Building Traffic>
 by: Derek Belay

As the internet age advances, more and more businesses are finding new life online. The potential benefits of such a venture are great as the internet allows for access to millions of possible customers across the globe. The startup costs tend to be lower as many entrepreneurs run their online businesses from home. Unlike a physical store or office, online businesses are usually open 24hrs a day, everyday. That’s the good news. The bad news is that the success rate for startup online businesses is about 10% as 9 out of 10 online businesses simply don’t work. Getting traffic to your site can be the most difficult of tasks. There you are eager and ready, your website looks great, your merchandise or service is ready and the future seems bright. So how do you get people to come to your site? The following will give you 5 methods that will help steer you in the correct direction.

1. Search Optimization

Search optimization is the method used to allow for your website to be ranked higher as a result of a search for specific keywords or phrases by a search engine such as Google or Yahoo. Businesses will target certain keywords that are relevant to their content and place them on the homepage and/or other pages on their site. As an example we can look at the online retailer, Jewelrypayless.com. They optimize words such as silver jewelry or “men’s ring”, etc. When Google receives a request for one of these key words jewelrypayless.com will come up in the search results. It is, however, not as easy as this. Your site may show up on page 100 buried deep within the search result listings. In order to get listed higher more work has to be done, as described in this article. Also, the act of optimizing a site requires some knowledge of HTML which is the basic language with which websites are built. You can use an HTML editor such Dreamweaver or Frontpage to add keywords to the pages which you are optimizing.

2. Linking Strategy

Websites often reserve an area of their site dedicated to links. The page usually consists of categorized links pointing to other recommended sites. Usually, websites will exchange links for mutual benefit. The more links you have pointing to your site, the better. Links to your site(inbound) show the search engines that your site has value. The best way to go about this process is to establish good content on your site and begin targeting websites you would link to exchange links with. You can buy software to help you do this or you can manually send out link exchange invitations via email.

3. Pay Per Click

The fastest way to get traffic is through pay-per-click advertising. Essentially, every time a web surfer clicks on an ad of your creation, you will pay. The price can range from 25 cents to $2 per click depending on the popularity of the keyword or phrases you’ve chosen. Basically, your ad will pop up in an area designated for paid ads once the keyword has been searched. It is important that you understand the correct keywords for your business in order to avoid paying unnecessary fees for irrelevant keywords. The most effective and popular of the pay per click ad sponsors are Google and Overture. You can also use shopping malls such as Nextag.com, Bizrate.com or Shopping.com to advertise via pay-per-click. Make sure to set your budget and monitor the results carefully making adjustments as you go along. Pay-per-click can be unreasonably expensive if not managed carefully.

4. Affiliates

Affiliates are companies, individuals and organizations that you have established business relationships with in order to increase your exposure and sales revenue. Affiliates send traffic to your site via a link representing your business on their site. If the prospective customer should buy from you the affiliate gets a commission from the transaction. In order to use affiliates you are required to register with an affiliate program and begin recruiting affiliates to work for you. Offering a handsome commission can attract affiliates to sign up. Having a professional website that will be easy for them integrate with their own site can also peak the interests of potential affiliates. Always treat your affiliates well, paying them on time and communicating with them on a regular basis.

5. Offline Advertising

An often neglected part of marketing online businesses, offline advertising, can be an effective means by which to bring in new customers and create “word of mouth” interest in your site. Ads in magazines, newspapers, tv, radio and local publications are some of the ways through which you can promote your business. Passing out flyers or sending out postcards can also result in new business, especially if you are offering a discount in the form of an exclusive coupon code. Be creative in trying to promote your business on a grass roots level. Read books such as “Guerilla Marketing” by Jay Levinson to gain insight on how to go about marketing in a cost effective manner.

In conclusion, succeeding online can be difficult but rewarding. If you use these methods to help you in your research and application of a business and marketing strategy, along with sacrificing time and putting forth a strong effort there is a good chance that you will be successful with your online business.

Blog Your Way To Profits
 by: Florie Lyn Masarate

Everybody has picked up the trend of blogging. And blogging has picked up the money-making scheme.

If you have a blog and have not used that to make money online, then you are being left behind by the others who are already making some good profits from blogs.

How do they do that?

Selling advertising though blogs.

This is the most common ways of making blogs produce income. The process is simple. If your blog is one of those more famous and well-read, you can it to sell ad space all by yourself. But for those not so famous blogs, there are services that can be used to set up an ad program. The widely used one is Adsense.

Adsense lets you choose some ads that are somewhat related to what your site is about. You are then paid based on the number of the readers that clicked on the ads to check them out. Why people opt for Adsense is because they can get it for free.

Blogs as an affiliate program.

This is another one of those click-through opportunities. This allows blogs to serve as a medium between the affiliate sites and the readers. When a visitor became interested on something that you have promoted on your blogs, they can click on the link that you have provided that will lead directly to the affiliate site.

Once the customer has decided to buy or avail of what is offered, you will get a commission based on the sale made.

Soliciting though blogs.

As opposed to the first two mentioned, you are not offering something to your readers. On the contrary, you are counting on their kindness and seeking out their help. You can ask for contributions, whether money or goods, for a certain cause.

If your readers are taken or is moved by what you have written, there is a likely possibility that they will be more than willing to help you.

Blogging to market.

Blogs are a way of generating new businesses and getting potential customers. If you already have a product or service being offered, you can try and offer more and new things though blogs.

They can be your own or in reference to other site or business that you want to offer your readers.

With the publicity that blogs are getting nowadays, there is no doubt that it has become one of the most effective income generating tool online today.

Viral Marketing -- Drive Massive Website Traffic With Other People's Products!
 by: Mike Adams

Would you like to easily create a viral marketing campaign that will drive massive website traffic to your site and increase your sales for years to come? Wouldn't it be great if you could create such a viral marketing campaign by giving away other people's products -- for free -- with their permission?

It's very easy. Anyone can do it in just three simple steps.

Step 1: Select master resale rights products or private label products that relate to your website's niche and that can be packaged with other products and given away for free.

Products are available on the Internet on almost any topic. Many are marketed with master resale rights, resale rights, or private label rights included either as a bonus or for a higher price. Choose resale rights products related to your website niche. And since rights can vary, be very sure that the products you choose can be included in packages and given away for free.

Step 2: Create your own unique viral marketing product by repackaging the resale rights products selected in step 1 into a package. Promote your website in the new package, and provide an incentive for people to pass the package on to others.

The easiest way to do this is by creating a small eBook that contains download links for the products you selected in step 1 and that ties these products together around a theme related to your website. Provide links to drive the website traffic to a Web page that is only promoted within your eBook so that you can track your results as your website traffic virus grows.

There are a variety of eBook creation tools readily available on the Internet. Some create eBooks as .exe files for PC's only. Others create PDF files that can be read on computers with any operating system using the free Adobe Acrobat Reader that is usually already installed.

To initiate your massive website traffic virus, you need to give people an incentive to pass your eBook on. Be sure that the eBook creation product you choose includes the ability to let people rebrand links or even text within the eBook. They at least should be able to add a "Sponsored By" link that will promote their website. This rebranding capability is common in most of the better .exe eBook creation software, but less common in PDF creation software. Be sure to check that the software you use will provide this feature.

To help your website traffic virus spread even faster, create some marketing material. At the very least, create a virtual eBook cover or virtual software box for the product. Use it yourself and include it with the product download. There are many companies on the Web that provide this service at a reasonable cost. There are also a number of software products available that allow you to create an unlimited number of ecovers.

You may also benefit from creating sample ads or even a mini-site sales page to promote your new viral marketing package. Use them yourself and include them with the product download so that people can easily promote your package.

Step 3: Start your viral marketing campaign by getting the product out on the Web in as many ways as possible.

Here are some ideas on how to start your viral marketing website traffic virus:

* Submit your eBook to directories of free eBooks.

* Offer your viral marketing eBook as a free bonus for new and current subscribers to your newsletter.

* Offer your viral marketing eBook as a free download to your website visitors.

* Offer your viral marketing eBook as a free download in your signature at the bottom of forum posts, emails, etc.

* Write articles related to your niche and your viral marketing eBook. Submit the articles to the many article directories around the Web. Do not directly promote yourself in the article. Instead, provide valuable content like you would want to read and include a link for readers to download your free eBook in the "resource box" or "about the author" box at the end of the article.

If you do a good job at step 1, you will have a viral marketing eBook that will appeal to your target market and that will drive massive website traffic to your site for years to come.

If you do a good job at step 2, people will spread the website traffic virus for you.

If you do a good job at step 3, the website traffic virus will begin.

Keep doing all of the suggestions in step 3 until you see the hits to the unique landing page you set up in step 1 start to grow exponentially. Then you will know that your viral marketing campaign has reached critical mass. Your website traffic virus will continue to grow and spread on its own because others are spreading it for you.

Want to really take your viral marketing to the next level and make all the massive new website traffic really profitable? Here's how:

* Keep repeating these steps until you have many viral marketing packages out there, each driving massive website traffic to your site.

* Set up the landing pages for the links in your packages as "squeeze pages," pages that require someone to subscribe to your newsletter to get further information. Use a sequential autoresponder to deliver your newsletter regularly and to automatically promote your website and products.

* Offer your other viral marketing packages as free bonuses for subscribing.

* On the subscription thank you page, offer a one-time special discount for some of your products.

Now you really know how to use viral marketing to easily drive massive website traffic to your site -- for years to come -- with other people's products. And you know how to make your massive new website traffic really profitable.

Making Your Affiliate Marketing Website Payoff!
 by: David Cooper

When creating an affiliate marketing website, here are some valuable tips you should know. The key to great performance is of course having the right product—and the right marketing niche. Make sure that the content and links are easy to follow, user friendly, and that there is key contact information for your customers to reach you with follow up questions.

The headline of an affiliate website, or any website in general, should have a strong headline that grabs the attention of the reader. This should be immediate. Studies rule that the attention span of people surfing the net is far shorter than if reading a book or newspaper. Make sure the content is such that a reader will want to read more.

Plan for solid endorsement content on your web page. As a rule people like to know what others who have tried the product or service really feel about it. This is where having a hybrid sales letter/article, will be the best way to quickly inform the reader of the benefits of making a purchase. However, at this stage, the goal of an affiliate website and its content should be working to build trust. What you’ll be offering is content, reviews, and articles that will help the buyer make a decision to purchase. This necessary material will also provide search engines with the material that your prospects are looking to find. In short, this means more traffic to the web site—and the results are increased sales.

A good piece of advice is to also build in an informative FAQ section. A customer should always have every available piece of information possible at their fingertips. A FAQ section entails facts about the product and services and how they impact the customer’s level of satisfaction. This will keep them at the website.

Consider scripting support and e-commerce services as part of your affiliate marketing website development plan. The scripting option will allow you to gather information on the customers shopping habits. This can proves useful down the line when developing or offering new products. Make sure you don’t overdue it with the scripts though. Your customers should not be caught in a snag if they want to depart.

There are even web page analyzer tools that can gauge how fast your page is downloading. This information will reveal if the website is too busy. Customers will tend to shy away from websites that take too long to download. Remember, you want the customer to have easy and speedy access to the products or services. All of these things are important because they allow you to know your business up close and personal. And don’t feel lacking if you’re unfamiliar with some of these elements right now. Knowledge comes with time, often by trial and error. The goal is to reduce the error rate and maximize your time and money.

Don’t be shy either in utilizing the links on your page to their maximum advantage. A common mistake is to make the links too small or obscure at first. Try for a workable balance of size and quantity that is proportional to other word content on the site. The goal is to direct the reader to more information that can help them make a well-informed decision. A well-informed decision results in a sale—that leads into repeat buys.

If you’re serious about growing your affiliate marketing business, it’ll help to have some type of answering service also that can screen and direct inquiries if you’re unavailable to be on the other end. The most successful web sites understand this and provide immediate access for the reader. This gives the impression that the website is run by a professional. Once again, you’ll be building the trust that allows the reader to ultimately make a purchase.

What would turn people off from a potentially dynamic affiliate website, and from signing on to an affiliate marketing program is too much initial hype. People can sense if the message is all about signing up new prospects. There has to be sincerity about fulfilling a need in the initial message conveyed. The goal is find buying customers—and to retain them possibly as affiliates who will be as loyal and charged about the service as you are. Another major turnoff is a pushy response to buy now. The buy now concept may work on merchant web sites, but an affiliate marketing approach has to be far more subtle. Remember, the primary goal of the affiliate marketing program is to win friends—and influence people.

6 Techniques to Get More Email Addresses Into Your List - Part 1
 by: Brian Lam

Today I shall be revealing the first three of the six techniques which you can immediately apply to your website in order to get more subscribers into your list.

1) Compelling name for your ezine

For any subscriber to really get attracted to your ezine list, you will need to get their attention when they first visit your website. But to do that would be require some clever ideas from your part.

As this will require you to come up with a catchy name for your ezine so that the subscribers can easily recall your ezine without much effort to search through their past activities to see if they really do subscribed to your ezine.

For example, a catchy name which is also descriptive for a website related to building great marriages might be "Marriage Builders". At once, your subscribers will be able to understand what your ezine is all about just basing on the name alone.

So this helps your potential subscribers to understand whether the content will be relevant to their needs. In this way, your subscribers would not hesitate and sign up immediately for your ezine. Thus, you will need to come up with a catchy yet descriptive name for your ezine.

2) Show your ezine back-issues

Now you would really want to get in touch with your subscribers, so it is recommended that you show a few past issues of your ezine to your potential subscribers.

This is to show them what kind of content is really inside the ezine and they are also able to gauge whether your writing style suits them.

With a real feel of what they can expect, this will really bring up the quality of your subscribers if they are really interested in what you are providing and recognize that it is of value to them. They will definitely stay on your list for much longer.

3) Make your ezine ad standout

How to increase your subscription rate if you do any promotions of any sort? Well, all you do is to make you ezine ad standout from the rest of the ads.

Here is the part where you will really need to think of how to take advantage of where your ad will be advertised. There are many different ways to make your ad outstanding.

For example, you can always use some CAPITALIZED words to catch the attention of potential subscribers or use symbols such as these "?^&*%#$~!" to add a little creativity to answering your main benefit from your ad.

Well, that is about all for Part 1...

Hope you can really put into use of whatever you have learned today.

Stay tuned for part 2 for my next issue on which I touch on how you can boost your subscription just by a 5 minutes "tweaking" on your sign up page.

How To Increase Site Revenue by adding self updating Ebay Pages
 by: Ian Simpson

One of the more time consuming tasks of maintaining a website is having continuously to update it with new products and other relevant content. Wouldn't it be nice therefore if you had a website that was self maintaining with automatically renewing content and the possibility of it earning a nice income for you?

There are a lot of savvy netpreneurs who are quietly raking in thousands of dollars each month by joining the ebay affiliate program and building niche websites based on the hottest selling products presently listed on ebay. Others add permanently updating content to their existing website to create more interest.

The first thing to do is to sign up to the ebay affiliate program, by going to CommissionJunction.com who administer ebay's affiliate program in America and the UK. You will be sent a user name and password. An important point here is never disclose your log in details to ebay or Commission Junction. Scam emails are still doing their rounds on the web purporting to be from ebay and asking you to confirm your log in details. Always ignore these emails and delete them straight away.

What you will receive from ebay is a welcoming email with links to the various tools and resources that will allow you to build an ebay listing of your chosen subject. The three main tools to create listings are the flexible destination tool, the ebay editor kit and the API Tool.

The flexible destination tool allows you to create links to specific pages on ebay. Simply enter your Commission Junction PID (do not get this mixed up with your Commission Junction account number), the ebay page you want to link to, give your link a title and then generate your link to copy and paste into your web page.

By using the ebay editor kit you can build a whole page of listings of your chosen niche, anything from 1 to 200 listings, although 15 to 25 is a good size page to have. Let's say that you want an ebay page that deals with cars, you could generate a whole page of cars of any make or model or you could narrow it down to a particular make and model, the options are there for you to choose from.

The API Tool is designed for the more adventurous webmaster and allows you to take the ebay affiliate program to greater heights. Unless you have a penchant for developing it is best avoided and left to those that have the necessary experience to use it.

If you cannot think of a subject to build a website about, just visit any ebay home page and click "Advanced Search" at the top right of the page and choose a category from the menu to the right of the search box. From here tick "Completed Listings Only" and press to continue. If you want to be more specific and narrow down your search, add a description into the box. On the next page select "Price, Highest First" from the menu and you will get all the highest ticket items sold in the past few weeks. This is an excellent exercise to conduct if you are not too sure what you want to promote from ebay.

So there you have it, the above process will add updated clickable links to eBay auction listings for whatever you decide to promote. The process makes it simple for you to add future and updated content on your site relating to whatever your site is about and you can add as many pages of auction listings as you like.
